Hold your next party or birthday bash in the Cafeteria Car at the National Railway Museum in Port Adelaide.

Built in 1947 at the South Australian Railways Islington Workshops, the Cafeteria Car was initially used on the East-West Express between Adelaide and Port Pirie.

When booked for a birthday party during opening hours, use of the Cafeteria Car includes:

  • Admission to the museum for up to 30 people, with extra adults and children charged at a reduced cost
  • Air-conditioned, milkbar-style seating, and themed décor from an era representing rock-n-roll, swirling skirts, slicked hair and milkshakes
  • Central servery contains fridge, pie warmer, kettle and microwave
